Building on the success of the first-generation model, Bartooler Standard (2nd generation) was developed through a careful analysis and refinement of user experience. Within just six months of its launch, the new model secured a strong presence in the domestic market and achieved global exports, establishing Bartooler as a new category in the coffee dispenser industry. However, with rapidly growing demand, the limitations of sheet-metal fabrication became evident, leading to the adoption of a new manufacturing approach.
1세대 모델의 성공에 힘입어, 사용자 경험을 분석하고 개선된 2세대 Bartooler Standard 모델을 개발하게 되었습니다. 신제품은 런칭 6개월 만에 국내 시장을 점유하고 해외 수출을 이뤄내며, Bartooler라는 새로운 커피 디스펜서 시장을 열었습니다. 폭발적인 수요 속에서 기존 판금 성형 방식만으로는 공급에 한계가 있었고, 이에 따라 새로운 제조 방식을 모색하게 되었습니다.
By introducing injection molding, the design gained greater freedom in form, enabling the reduction of divided parts and achieving a more minimal silhouette. As a result, Bartooler Standard evolved into a refined object that naturally blends into diverse café environments.
사출 성형을 적용하면서 조형적 자유도가 확대되었고, 분할된 파트를 정리하여 더욱 미니멀한 형태를 구현했습니다. 이로써 Bartooler Standard는 다양한 카페 환경에 자연스럽게 녹아드는 감각적인 오브제로 자리잡게 되었습니다.
The most significant innovation in the second-generation Bartooler Standard is the up–down slide interface. Moving away from the touchscreens and auto-sensing controls we are accustomed to today, the physical act of sliding introduces a sense of participation in the coffee extraction process.
Adjusting the slide up or down to match different cup or tumbler sizes triggers responsive indicator lights, providing intuitive feedback on the brewing state. This interaction goes beyond simple function control, evolving into an emotional experience that connects with the barista’s gesture of handling coffee and creates a new rhythm between user and machine.
Ultimately, Bartooler Standard stands not only as a coffee machine but as an aesthetic object that completes the atmosphere of a café space.
2세대 Bartooler Standard의 가장 큰 변화는 업·다운 슬라이드 인터페이스 입니다. 현대에 익숙해져있는 터치스크린 오토센싱을 벗어나, 물리적인 슬라이드 조작은 커피 추출 과정에 ‘참여한다’는 감각을 부여합니다.
컵이나 텀블러의 다양한 크기와 상황에 맞춰 슬라이드를 위아래로 조절하면, 인디케이터 라이트가 반응하며 추출 상태를 직관적으로 피드백합니다. 이는 단순히 기능 제어를 넘어서, 바리스타가 커피를 다루는 제스처와 연결된 감성적 경험으로 확장되며, 사용자와 기계 사이에 새로운 리듬을 만들어 냅니다.
